Last day of January 2024 already. I found this picture when looking through pictures from the winter of 2008. Interesting to see everything as it was 16 years ago. My desk, my computer, and of course - Cornelius.

Cornelius worshiping at the alter of warm. There is nothing like the warmth of a wood stove, and cats know this.

Friday January 26, 2024 Pic of the Day.
Cornelius, the tuxedo, tried and tried for years to be friends with Felemur, the lynx point siamese, but Felemur kept resisting most of the time. Occasionally, Felemur would cuddle up with Cornelius as in this picture.

Thursday January 25, 2024 Pic of the Day.
I had forgotten that Cornelius used to sit like this. Seeing this reminded me of a time where he was sitting like this once and watching bobsledding on TV with me. I don't think I have a picture or video of that. I stopped watching TV 12 years ago, and Cornelius has been gone 12 years now, so I sort of connect watching TV with spending time with Cornelius. Odd. This picture was taken in January of 2007 when I lived in a log cabin in the woods (with a satellite dish).

Wednesday January 24, 2024 Pic of the Day.
Today is the 6th anniversary of the passing of Chessie. She was very, very sweet and never bit or scratched, just like 2 of her remaining sisters Andi and Elly-May. She passed on the 24th of January 2018, and this picture was taken on January 24 2009. Her kind nature is what I think of when I think of her now. Picture was taken when I lived in a log cabin.

Avensby found a new friend. You can see she likes to chew on the ears of the cat towel peg. A towel peg is like a giant cloths peg for holding beach towels on a beach chair, but they are very handy for other things.

Monday January 22, 2024 Pic of the Day.
Norton is an expert at relaxation. He is one of those big, fluffy, floppy, easy going cats. I wish I was like him that way, but I'm not. I'm not big, I'm not fluffy, I"m not floppy, I'm not easy going, and I'm not a cat. Picture was taken about a month before humanity was attacked around the world by wealthy pschopaths and their minions in governments, big tech and the medical industrial complex. Seems like a very long time ago now, showing how time can be relative. During the early part of that, I found being relaxed was an amazing defence to the onslaught, though it was difficult to do at times.

I think Dexter has the winter blues. The red light therapy light is the source of the red colour, but I don't think the red is offsetting the blues.

Friday January 19, 2024 Pic of the Day.
I was walking Norton, turned around to look at something, looked back - and Norton was gone. But, I followed the leash with my eye, and saw him on my solar panel array which is about 7 feet off the ground. Some cats like to stay on the ground, but some are much more vertical than usual. Norton is the later.

We had the first snow of the new year last night, and it feels like Christmas outside, which is appropriate as it is Orthodox Christmas Day today, and the snow fell last night on Orthodox Christmas Eve. Andi and Patty, and all the cats just love this particular fleece blanket with the snowflakes on it, making it a Christmas picture in my mind.

This picture was taken in January of 2017. Margarita loves sunlight, so after I put an incandecent bulb for winter in this light, she and a couple of others would sit under it gathering the light and warmth. When I would switch back to a LED bulb in the spring, the cats would avoid it. Interesting.

Tuesday January 02, 2024 Pic of the Day.
Taken January 03, 2009. I clearly remember taking this picture. Makes me wonder how many moments I actually can remember, but currently don't. Anyway, Cornelius the tuxedo, and Mumma-Puma the calico on the floor with two of her five kittens playing on the gold striped chair. Leon is the orange tabby kitten, and barely visisble on the top of the chair back is his sister Elly-May. This was a nice moment for me as Cornelius was so happy having kittens to play with. I was very worried about how Cornelius would respond to suddenly having another cat and five kittens in his home, but my worries were not only unfounded, but turned upside down. He adored the kittens, played with them, and cuddled up and slept with them. Like myself, the mom, Mumma-Puma I think was surprised by this - you could tell - I guess because she had not seen that before. I think it also gave her a break, as Cornelius would play with the kittens and tire them out. A truly eye-opening time for me realizing a male cat could and would take on the role of the father. That is something I didn't even guess was possible. Subsequently, I've seen videos of male lions being good fathers, which backup up my observations with Cornelius and the kittens.

Monday January 01, 2024 Pic of the Day.
Happy New Year! 2024 sounds like the distant future to me. Ah well, that's what being older does to your perception of time. Thought I would start the new year with a kitten picture. This was taken the day after I took in the mom cat with her 5 kittens. Andi was one of the kittens. Andi was a tiny kitten compared to her siblings. I think she was about 8 weeks old here.
