Happy Halloween! I've shown this picture in the past, but I really like the way Daisy is eyeing the Halloween cat from the dollar store. Daisy is also 15 years old now, though this picture was taken when she was 11 in October of 2019. She is the sister of Elly-May from yesterday's picture and Andi from the day before.

Monday October 30, 2023 Pic of the Day.
This picture was taken through the window of the cat tunnel that connects the cat pen to the house. Elly-May and the other cats enjoy resting in the tunnel especially when it is sunny. This picture was taken mid-September this year when Elly-May would have turned 15. She was born mid-September of 2008 according to the vet when I took her and her mom and siblings in after getting them in November of 2008. Andi from yesterday's picture is one of her siblings. There were 5 kittens and the mom when I took them in, and I still have 3 kittens left - Elly-May, Andi and Daisy.

I was looking at pictures from early November last year and found this nice picture of Andi enjoying a beautiful fall day.

Almost 18 years ago. Amazing how time moves. Cornelius the tuxedo, with Felemur the lynx point siamese.

Friday October 27, 2023 Pic of the Day.
I was looking back to the fall of 2008 for cat pictures, but found this one of a porcupine by the red pine woods on the property I had at the time. I did not know before this how big porcupines were.

Hard to come up with a more "Fall" picture than this. Three days ago, Andi and I were out for a walk in the yard, and Andi found a spot where there are a lot of crickets. She decided to settle in and watch.

Margarita is a very small cat, and Dexter is a larger cat. Together in the now gone East-Wing cat area that has been replaced with the new Catio.

I decided to look back to October of last year, and found this picture of Andi in the Manitoba Maple while out for a walk.

Tuesday October 17, 2023 Pic of the Day.
Andi out for a walk checking out the new solar panel array I built over the past month. Today was the day I mounted the solar panels on the frame I built - which took way longer that I would have thought.
Today's Quote: "October, here's to you. Here's to the heady aroma of the frost-kissed apples, the winey smell of ripened grapes, the wild-as-the-wind smell of hickory nuts, and the nostalgic whiff of that first wood smoke." - Ken Weber

Leon and Fiona were so close. I have dozens of pictures of them together.

Sunday October 15, 2023 Pic of the Day.
Dexter is one of those cats that took to a leash quickly like Cornelius from yesterday's picture. Dexter always seems to be on a mission and keeps the leash taut. The intensity of his personality and enthusiasm for his missions even though he is 15 years old quite amazes me.
Today's Quote: "Enthusiasm is everything. It must be taut and vibrating like a guitar string. - Pele

Saturday October 14, 2023 Pic of the Day.
Wow! This picture is 19 years old, but I remember the day, the woods, even how the woods had muddy spots to go around. Cornelius was great on a leash, and we had a nice, short walk in the woods during a car ride in the morning of September 11, 2004. Funny how some memories are so clear, some fade completely.

Friday October 13, 2023 Pic of the Day.
I mentioned yesterday that I had a digital camera before 2003 that was a cheap camera. Here is a picture of Felemur (Lynx Point Siamese) and Xxaque (White cat) sleeping on a chair that was taken in March of 2000 with that camera. These 2 were very close friends. This is the full size of the picture - this camera could only take pictures that were 640x480.
Today's Quote: “The years go by. The time flies. Every single second is a moment in time that passes. And it seems like nothing - but when you’re looking back ... well, it amounts to everything.” - Ray Bradbury.
Picture Taken: March 2000.
Thursday October 12, 2023 Pic of the Day.
I took this picture in January of 2003 just after I bought my first good quality digital camera - in fact, it is picture number 7 taken with the camera. I had a digital camera before that, but it was of very poor quality. Cornelius under a light on a rocking chair.
Today's Quote: “You live life looking forward, you understand life looking backward.” - Soren Kierke.
Picture Taken: January 2003.
Wednesday October 11, 2023 Pic of the Day.
Three cats on my lap while I try to relax on my zero gravity chair. Norton is the fluffy cat closest to the camera, Patty, the silver cat, is right behind Norton on the right, and Fiona on my left leg. The picture was taken in low light without flash, so it is a bit unclear.
Today's Quote: “I wish that every day was Saturday and every month was October.” - Charmaine J. Forde

Tuesday October 10, 2023 Pic of the Day.
Andi resting on the walkway during an outing in the yard. Andi gets more pictures than the other cats because Andi is the only cat I have that can be trusted to just be outside without a leash and behave in a responsible way. She stays within a reasonable distance of me, and we both keep an eye on the other. She doesn't panic when there is a noise in the area, and tends to want back inside after about 15 minutes of being outside. Andi is officially 15 years old about the time this picture was taken in the first week of October. I took her mom and siblings in on November 19, 2008, and the vet said they would have been born most likely in the first week of October. Her mom was a barn cat in a horse barn, but there was a terrible fire that killed 8 horses, but somehow Andi's mom got all 5 kittens out to safety. They were left homeless, and I ended up with all 6. I still have 3, Andi, Elly-May and Daisy. Mumma-Puma, the mom, kittens Leon and Chessie all passed away in 2018 - not a good year for me.

Monday October 09, 2023 Pic of the Day.
Dexter and Andi out for a walk in the yard. Dexter is by the catnip plant, while Andi is in a sunbeam. Somehow Andi in a sunbeam is appropriate for her.

Sunday October 08, 2023 Pic of the Day.
Margarita in the cat pen. The cat pen is on the west side of my place, whereas the catio in yesterday's picture is on the east side. I made the cat pen last year, and the catio this year. There is a tunnel that goes to the cat pen, and it is open year round with no windows. The catio has (well, will have - I'm 1/3 done the windows) opening windows so they can enjoy sunny days even when it is windy and cold.

Saturday October 07, 2023 Pic of the Day.
I'm still working on the catio, and the season is running out for working. I still have not make all the windows, so I've had to platic sheet over the openings for winter. There are 9 openings, and it takes 2 windows per opening, and I've got the windows made for 3 openings, or 6 windows. It has been a lot of work, and I move slowly due to age. Still, the cats love it and it has been very much worth the effort.

Two years ago. Andi on my lap enjoying the sun while I relax on my zero gravity chair.

Dexter taking a rest after dragging me around the yard at quite a pace. For a 15 year old cat, Dexter has a remarkable amount of energy.

Yesterday's picture was taken in October of 2022, and today's picture is taken on September 30 this year - just 3 days ago. Both are of Andi out in the yard for a walk.
