Thursday November 30, 2023 Pic of the Day
Wow. November is over today. That sure went fast. Here is a picture from 11 years ago today. Elly-May (white with orange and black) and her sister Chessie (brown-orange tabby). When I first got the kittens and their mom, I used to call Chessie "plush". Her fur was thick and soft with deep, rich colours. Chessie passed away from illness at 8 1/2 years old. I still have Elly-May and two other kittens from that litter.

Dexter was watching leaves blow around. Dexter is 15 now, and will be 16 this spring. Picture was taken 6 weeks ago tomorrow. Things still look summery in this picture even though it was taken October 19. Now, there is almost no bright colours to be seen. I actually enjoy the muted colours of November.

Patty was on my lap when Dexter jumped up and settled right in. As you can see, Patty is not very pleased. It is very red because I have a red light therapy light in the room for the cats that they truly enjoy.

Friday November 24, 2023 Pic of the Day - Picture 1.
10 years ago today, there was a major snowstorm where I lived at the time - London, Canada. I'm showing two pictures today. This one of the street at dawn, and the one below of my truck later that morning when I started to clean up the snow.

The cats love this fleece snowflake blanket. To this day, when it comes out, the cats get up from where they are to climb on it. It does feel nice to me too, but it is almost magnetic to cats.

Dexter out for a walk after the first snow in November of last year.

Even though this picture was taken in November, it gives me a Christmas feeling. Avensby and Norton.

I like this picture of Avensby. The was from November 2020. It shocks me that November of 2020 is three years ago.

Friday November 17, 2023 Pic of the Day.
Another picture taken the same time as yesterday's picture. I think Dexter looks great with his formal red bow tie climing a tree.

Dexter moves beautifully, and sometimes reminds me of a leopard. The way he was climbing this tree looked like a leopard.
Today's Quote: “Climbing trees is still one of my favorite things to do. A tree and a good book and I'm happy." - Emayatzy E. Corinealdi

Wednesday November 15, 2023 Pic of the Day.
Looking back one year, I found this picture of Elly-May. Elly-May is as sweet as she looks. She is enjoying a beautiful November day in the cat pen.
Today's Quote: “November with uncanny witchery in its changed trees. With murky red sunsets flaming in smoky crimson behind the westering hills. With dear days when the austere woods were beautiful and gracious in a dignified serenity of folded hands and closed eyes–days full of a fine, pale sunshine that sifted through the late, leafless gold of the juniper-trees and glimmered among the grey beeches, lighting up evergreen banks of moss and washing the colonnades of the pines.” - Lucy Maud Montgomery
Picture Taken: November 2022.
Tuesday November 14, 2023 Pic of the Day.
I was taking Dexter and Andi for a walk the other day, and they both wanted to stop at the catnip plant I had just transplanted from a pot. Somehow, when taking this picture, I managed to catch both with their tongues sticking out.
Today's Quote: “This world is made out of sugar. It can crumble so easily but don't be afraid to stick your tongue out and taste it." - Sarah Kay

Yesterday I said the picture of Octavia looked like my cat Margarita wearing a fake moustache and beard, so I thought I would show a mug shot of Margarita to compare.

Sunday November 12, 2023 Pic of the Day.
This is Octavia. A friend of a friend's cat. I was visiting on boxing day of 2019. When I was looking at this picture, I thought Octavia looked like my cat Margarita in disguise wearing a fake moustache and beard that has gone a little off-kilter.
Today's Quote: “The best live among us in disguise." - Louis Dudek
Picture Taken: December 2019.
Saturday November 11, 2023 Pic of the Day.
Andi and Dexter get along well, but Andi on the right started slapping Dexter when he tried to nibble on "her" catnip plant. I had to say something, and they both were fine after that.

Picture Taken: November 2023.
Friday November 10, 2023 Pic of the Day.
Andi and Dexter out for a walk in the yard at the end of October. The big plant between them is a catnip plant, and every time I take either of them for a walk, this is a priority stop..

Cornelius from 18 years ago. Like many cats, he would often sleep with one paw covering his face.

Picture Taken: December 2005.
Wednesday November 08, 2023 Pic of the Day.
Every once in a while, I will show a picture that is not of a cat! Crazy, I know. This tree I knew the whole time I was growing up. This picture was taken 20 years ago just before it was cut down. It is some kind of grafted corkscrew tree, probably a corkscrew hazel, but I'm not sure any more. It was in the front yard of the library in Scotland, Ontario, a town I went through almost every weekend from when I was born to 1977. I was always fascinated by this tree.

Tuesday November 07, 2023 Pic of the Day.
I find it odd that some days in the past are very clear, others I have zero memory of. This day 20 years ago is very clear in my mind, as if it was a couple of days ago. Cornelius enjoying some November sunshine, the day after a lunar eclipse.
Today's Quote: “Some memories are unforgettable, remaining ever vivid and heartwarming!" - Joseph B. Wirthlin

Another picture from May of 2000. The camera was not a good one, but it was my first digital camera and it did the job of saving a few memories, which I'm thankful for.

Sunday November 05, 2023 Pic of the Day.
This picture was taken on a poor quality digital camera 23 1/2 years ago. I took the picture for the squirrel on the deck. The squirrel was named "Piggy", and was the most friendly squirrel you could imagine. It is interesting for me to see where I lived at the time.

Andi is lying down while scratching the post in the cat pen. Just like people, cats can be lazy.
Today's Quote: “Laziness is nothing more than the habit of resting before you get tired." - Jules Renard

Friday November 03, 2023 Pic of the Day.
Andi, Norton and Patty. I like the way Norton is fitting around Patty in the box. That is very like Norton - he has an easygoing personality.
