I've shown this picture before a few years ago, but it really is one of my favourite pictures of Margarita showing her very unusual eyes.

A mother and daughters picture. The mom cat, Mumma-Puma, is in the middle. She is 10 years old here. The tuxedo is her daughter Andi, and the other daughter is Elly-May. Elly-May and Andi are 6 years old here, and are 2 of 5 kittens Mumma-Puma had when I took her in after she became homeless when the horse barn she lived in burned down on a November night in 2008. I was the next door neighbour, and had known Mumma-Puma because she hunted in my yard. When this picture was taken in November of 2014, the mom and all 5 kittens were still with me. Since then, Mumma-Puma has passed away, as has her daughter Chessie, and son Leon. I still have Elly-May, Andi and Daisy.
Just as a note, the picture is fuzzy because of the really poor camera I had at the time. If it was not very bright, every picture would look like this. I learned a good lesson from this: Don't think just because something is a name brand (Canon in this case), that the quality is good. Do your research.

Another picture of the cats taking over my bed. This picture is taken the day after yesterday's picture. Note Patty on the table under the lamp. Hard for me to fathom this is 9 years ago, as I remember taking these pictures.

Normally when I look back, it is one year, or 5 years, etc. This time I went back three months to Christmas Day, 2022. We had just had a very serious storm in the previous days, and the cats and I were hunkered down inside, waiting out the weather just passed and the winter season just started. Andi is on a fleece blanket under the red light therapy light I have set up for the cats, and in front of the electric fireplace which gives a surpirsingly realistic looking flame I never tire of.

It was a nice day yesterday, and while I was working in the yard, Dexter was in the pen enjoying the sun. I took him out for 2 long walks with the leash and harness in the early morning and mid-afternoon.

For the past 2 years or so, Fiona has been getting knots in her fur. Before that, she did not. I've been trying to cut them out, but I was losing the battle. I finally bought a good quality electric cat clipper, and Fiona was my test subject. I have a few long haired cats, and in the past I used pet scissors, but that took a long time. Obviously from the picture, I'm not done, but before Fiona was fed up, I managed to get this much done. I really like her skin colouring. She is really happy with me now, as I'm fairly sure it feels better to have the knotted fur gone. She seems like a much happier cat.
Today's Quote: "I must have a cat whom I find homeless, wandering about the court, and to whom, therefore, I am under no obligation. I have already selected a dirty little drunken wretch of a kitten to be the successor to my poor old cat." - Samuel Butler 1835-1902

I took Andi for a walk the other day, and she lit on these patio stones in a south facing sheltered spot and started soaking up the sun. She was even starting to get sleepy as she was sitting here.

HAPPY PATTY CAT DAY! March 17, 2010 I took Patty in after a neighbour called me and said someone had pulled over on the road and put her out of the car and drove away. I lived deep in forest country at the time. Patty would have been about 6 months old according to the vet. This picture was taken five months later when Patty would have been about 11 months old. Patty was doing her best to learn English at the time, and fell asleep on the dictionary after studying. Not just a joke, as Patty is one of two cats that obviously understands a lot of what I say. Andi is the other. To the other cats, everything I say, they hear as, "blah, blah, blah".

Thursday March 16, 2023 Pic of the Day.
This picture was taken at the grand opening of the cat pen. I finished in the morning, opened up the tunnel from the house end and went outside and watched. This is what transpired. These six of my nine cats went in right away.

Avensby can be a real problem because of her attitude. I think it is my fault for spoiling her when I raised her. Andi on the other hand, is the stable and wise matriarch of the family. In this picture, Avensby had just caused trouble, and Andi was none to pleased about it.

Norton cleaning/grooming Margarita. This picture is quite unusual. Margarita is not a social cat at all. She really is a loner cat, though she makes it known she likes me. The thing is, Norton is so innocent, he doesn't recognize that Margarita is not social, and he treats her like she is social, and this time she acquiesced, and ultimately she enjoyed it.

Taken in March of 2007 in Central Ontario, Canada. Cornelius loved the wood stove, and I learned how to set him up in front of it so that it suited him.

Cornelius loved being in this pen. He would go into it by himself. Early or late in the year when the air was cool, and when the sun was out, Cornelius loved to lie on his back and sun himself. This picture is taken early March 2004 on my back deck. I would work in the yard, and Cornelius would do this.

Yesterday I showed a picture from 20 years ago. Today's picture is 10 years ago. This is Mumma-Puma with Fiona in behind her. Mumma-Puma would have been about 9 years old here, and Fiona would have been 3 years old. Fiona is a really tiny cat. Mumma-Puma is slighly bigger than a normal sized cat. Big for a female, but normal for a male is how I would describe her.

March 2023. Spring is just around the corner in the northern hemisphere. I decided to look back 20 years to the day to see what was going on in my life, and here is a picture of Cornelius (tuxedo) and Felemur (Lynx Point Siamese). Both of course are long gone, but I think of them all the time. Happy March everyone.
Today's Quote: "You see, wire telegraph is a kind of a very, very long cat. You pull his tail in New York and his head is meowing in Los Angeles. Do you understand this? And radio operates exactly the same way: you send signals here, they receive them there. The only difference is that there is no cat." - Albert Einstein, when asked to describe radio
