Avensby has great whiskers. I love the way they cascade down. This picture turned out well considering it was taken with a discount cell phone from 2017. Quite incredible technology really when you stop to marvel at it.

Avensby and Leon hanging out together by a furnace vent. Leon in particular, loved heat.

Thursday April 27, 2023 Pic of the Day.
The "Sunroom Gang". That is what I called these 4 when the hung out together. All 4 were very close and would wander around together, rushing into the sunroom, and back out like a pack of dogs. After Leon (orange tabby) passed away, the gang slowly stopped hanging out together.

Dexter is the large cat in front. He is my biggest cat. Right behind him in the box is Margarita (another tuxedo) who is one of my smallest cats. You can really see the size difference in this picture.

A quintessential springtime April day. The male Manitoba Maple tree is in flower, the temerature is coolish, but feels so good, the air is fresh with a breeze, and since the leaves are not out yet, everyting seems bright and open to view. Andi loves being around this tree near the cat pen and is truly enjoying her time outside with me.

Friday April 21, 2023 Pic of the Day.
The day before yesterday, I mentioned that Daisy was a complete recluse, but for some reason she came out of her hiding spot and joined the family - after over 14 years. She was even a different kitten, and her mom wanted nothing to do with her, only the 4 other kittens in the litter. Here is another picture of Daisy on the far left. Sadly, a day after this picture was taken, Daisy is back to her hiding spot. Oh well, a strange but nice brief moment to have her as part of the family.

Wednesday April 19, 2023 Pic of the Day.
To most people, there would be nothing special about this picture. But to me, this is truly amazing. The cat on the left in the amber colour basket is Daisy. She is the most reclusive cat I've ever known. She has never come out from her hiding place to spend time up here before. That she is close to the other two cats is shocking. Daisy is 14 1/2 years old, and suddenly she has made a big change. Not sure what precipitated the change, but it is very interesting to behold.

Monday April 17, 2023 Pic of the Day.
I was looking back 3 years and found this picture of Fiona recovering from an illness. When one of my cats gets sick, I separate them with their own basket, litter box and food & water. This prevents them from getting bothered by other cats, and it also allows them to eat in peace without one of the "eaters" to steal their food. Fiona recovered well, but you can see she was pretty sad at the time.

April 2023 greets us today. Most people have heard of synchronized swimming, but cats have synchronized lying around. Norton and Dexter have been practising diligently.
