Another Andi picture enjoying a nice sunny day. I was on one chair with my feet up on another chair while I kept an eye on her wandering in the yard around me. She came over, jumped up on me and settled in for a while. Andi is sharp, and stays fairly close to me. If she sees or hears something she is not sure about, she trots right over to me. Most cats in my experience do the opposite, so Andi gets to go for walks without a leash. She is the only cat I trust doing that with.

Dexter is actually surprisingly good at going for walks on a leash. The only problem for me is that he goes and goes and never rests. I'm old, and have trouble keeping up with his pace. Still, it is good as he gets his exercise, though I'm not sure if Dexter is capable of getting tired. Most cats are naturally sedentary, that certainly is not the case with Dexter. Probably that is the reason he looks so good for a 14 year old cat.

Thursday October 27, 2022 Pic of the Day.
Here is a picture of where the cats and I live with the covered bridge to the cat pen under the big Manitoba Maple tree. They can come and go to and from the cat pen to the house any time they wish. There is a cat door from the house to the covered bridge.

Tuesday October 25, 2022 Pic of the Day.
Where I live, the last few days have afforded us beautiful weather. The cats have been soaking it up in the pen I made for them which they can access anytime they wish by taking a covered bridge from the house. I was sitting in a chair beside the pen and took this picture looking up to Norton who was watching me from above.

If our names are mislaid."

19 years ago. I do remember taking this picture and loving how it turned out with the mixing of the reflection with Cornelius' face. I was in my garden and just happened to notice I was being watched. Camera was in my pocket, and got this picture of him behind the basement window on a shelf. He was not happy I was outside without him. I went in and got him, and we went for a walk in the garden.

Much to my surprise, Andi is a real tree climber. She is 14 years old, and has always been an indoor cat until this year when I started taking her for outdoor walks. As we were going for walks, she would go over to trees and look like she wanted to go up them. I set her on a large horizontal low branch thinking she would be nervous and not know what to do, but she just started climbing around the tree like an expert.

Today's quote below truly matches this picture of Cornelius living life to the fullest - for a cat anyway. Personally, I think this is pretty good for a human as well - I'd take it. The last few days where I live have been cold, cloudy, rainy and windy. The weather reminded me of this picture, and I went looking for it.

Wednesday October 19, 2022 Pic of the Day.
This picture looks almost like it was taken under water. I remember taking this picture. It was a very hot day and nobody was moving much. Luckily, the yard was covered by a canopy of trees blocking most of the sun. The little sun that did make it through was partially stopped by a golf umbrella I put up for Cornelius. Cornelius was so pleasant to spend time with.

I took this picture 3 days ago. It is Andi in the tree with Norton in the pen in the background. I thought this was a good followup to yesterday's picture.

Nice memory of Cornelius from over 17 years ago. We were having fun in a friend's 2 acre backyard while I was staying there to take care of her cats and dog while she was away at her cottage. Cornelius walked up this Redbud tree branch that was touching the ground at the end. Cornelius is only about a couple of feet off the ground here, but I got down close to the ground and took the picture looking up. You wouldn't know we were in the middle of a city by looking at this picture.

I just took this picture yesterday when I took Andi for a walk in the yard. I set her on the chair to see if I could get a picture of her like this. Once in a while cats will cooperate.

We had a beautiful day last Sunday, so I took Andi out in the yard for a walk.
Today's Quote: "I saw the most beautiful cat today. It was sitting by the side of the road, its two front feet neatly and graciously together. Then it gravely swished around its tail to completely encircle itself. It was so fit and beautifully neat, that gesture, and so self-satisfied, so complacent." - Ann Morrow Lindbergher

Fiona is a very small cat with a big cat's tail. Fiona is also hard to take pictures of because she is so restless. This picture however shows her tail well.

I looked back 11 years, and found this one of Leon watching birds or squirrels outside the sunroom. Leon used to spend surprisingly long amounts of time in this position on chairs watching.

Welcome to October. I found this picture of Cornelius sleeping in the sun on a chair in a cottage on Aylen Lake, Canada beside Algonquin Park. Cornelius knew how to live life like nowbody else I've known. He had just spent the morning on the beach on the lake, came back with me to the cottage, ate and went to sleep when I took this picture. If you go to the home page, the first picture is of Cornelius at the beach, which was taken 2 days after this picture was taken. From 16 years ago in early October 2006.
