I just discovered this picture in my camera. This really captures the real Andi. Andi is wise, kind, emotionally stable, serious but not intense. She had just turned 13 when this picture was taken.

Saturday March 26, 2022 Pic of the Day.
There are two aspects to this picture I noticed. One, Avensby has had enough of her picture being taken this day. I had just purchased a new lens for my camera and was going a bit overboard taking pictures of the cats. For those that are interested, it was a Sony 50mm 1.8 prime lens for my Sony A6000 (35mm format equivalent: 75mm). I was having a lot of fun taking portraits of the cats in very low light, something I had not been able to do with the lens that came with the camera. No flash, and just one 60 watt incandescent bulb on in the room. The other aspect of this picture I noticed right away was how the background colours and the colouring of Avensby worked so well together. By the way, it was so dark in the room when I took this picture, that it is at 1.8 with an ISO of 6400. It is amazing to me how little graininess there is when that is considered.

This is one of the earliest pictures I have of Patty, taken about 5 months after I got her. I was living in a log cabin at the time, and my camera failed early in 2010, and was not able to get a new one until I moved back to the city. This is taken with a visitor's camera.

Thursday March 17, 2022 Pic of the Day.
Patty showed up in my life on March 17, 2010, so I've had her for 12 years as of today. She was about six months old when I got her. Someone had dumped her off on the side of the road in the country. She got the name Patty because she was found on March 17. She is proably a silver Abyssinian and tabby mix.

I think it is because of the time of year, but I'm interested in pictures that involve the sun, or bright sunlight. Over the past few days, the pictures have been cats in the sun, or sunlight coming through. This is Norton sunning himself on the sleigh on the side of the cat tree. Sometimes I forget what a mane Norton has. I also think his face does look like a male lion's face.

Five kittens not too happy about getting their picture taken. These are the five kittens I took in November 2008, the only one missing in this picture is their mom. She didn't run into the cat pen like her kittens did when a stranger came over to the house.

Yesterday, I showed a picture of Andi with her brother Leon when they were about 5 months old. This is Andi from just a few days ago at about 13.5 years old.

Avensby was sleeping in her asperagus box, and when I was taking some pictures, she heard me and looked out - and I got the picture.

Thursday March 03, 2022 Pic of the Day.
Cornelius loved to be in this pen, and he loved going outside in the pen to sun when it was cool and sunny. Here he is on an early March day in 2004. When I would go outside to work, I would open the pen door, and most of the time Cornelius would run into it. I would carry him out, put him in the sun and do my work. He is on my back deck in this picture. The deck was in a sheltered corner facing south, and the deck was painted black, so even in March, on a sunny day it would be quite pleasant there.

Another picture of Felemur and Cornelius from March 2003. Cornelius tried so hard to be friends with Felemur, but Felemur never reciprocated, and after a couple of years of trying, Cornelius gave up making the effort.

Tuesday March 01, 2022 Pic of the Day.
Welcome to March. I went back to March 01, 2003 to see what was happening - 19 years ago! That's hard for me to beleive. Anyway, we have the tuxedo Cornelius with Felemur the lynx point siamese behind him in a home I owned until 2004. I had just purchased a nice (but expensive) new digital camera about a month prior to this, and was on a tear taking pictures of the cats every couple of minutes. Felemur passed away at 20 years old in 2009, and Cornelius passed away at 13 years old in 2011. So, Felemur would have been 14 here and Cornelius would have been 5.
