Monday February 28, 2022 Pic of the Day.
I looked to 2009 to see what was happening on this day. Three kittens, the mom cat (lower left corner) and Cornelius, the big former tomcat that the kittens adored. I remember taking this picture because I debated on whether or not to try and remove the mail from under Cornelius for the picture. Taken in the loft I made for the log cabin I lived in at the time.

Sunday February 27, 2022 Pic of the Day.
If you have been following this site for a while, you will know: a) once I start showing kitten pictures, its hard for me to stop, and b) in late 2008 I took in a homeless mom cat with her five kittens and kept them all. This is all five kittens nursing with the mom cat. I still have three of the kittens, which are now senior cats that are now 13 1/2 years old.

Couldn't help myself with another kitten picture. Avensby kitten with "Uncle" Dexter. Dexter was a four year old tomcat when found, but he turned out to be one of the best parents to Avensby along with Leon and Norton.

Friday February 18, 2022 Pic of the Day.
Quite often Patty will hold onto my arm like this, and Elly-May will press her head against me and sleep, but not often does this happen at the same time. Not easy getting the picture without disturbing them.

Monday February 14, 2022 Pic of the Day.
Happy Margarita day! I brought Margarita home 8 years ago today. This picture is of her in pen after I got home. I suspended the pen up high whenever I used to get a new cat so they could watch and smell the other cats without any chance of an altercation.

Margarita is actually a very friendly cat - in fact right now she is sleeping on my lap, but she has a grumpy attitude, and it comes through in this picture.

On Monday, February 14, Margarita will have been with the family for 8 years. I'm re-showing a picture of a happy Margarita. This is her happy face - seriously.

Friday February 11, 2022 Pic of the Day.
Ten years ago today, I brought Dexter home. He was a four year old feral tomcat. This picture was taken the morning after I got him. He had spent the entire first night I got him clinging onto my clothes on my chest. Not a great quality picture as it was taken in low light with a very inexpenive point-and-shoot camera.

Yesterday, I showed a picture of my orange tabby Leon. And, tomorrow it will be the 10th anniversary that I got Dexter. They became great friends quite quickly. Here is a picture from November of 2012 showing them cuddled up.

Wednesday February 09, 2022 Pic of the Day.
I saw an orange kitten yesterday, and it made me think of Leon. Leon has been gone for 3 1/2 years. I don't know how well it comes through, but Leon's orange fur had a golden quality to it that made it particularly beautiful. Leon was such a nice cat, and when I saw the kitten, it made me miss Leon.

Andi (tuxedo) and Patty (silver) on a chair with my snowflake blanket. This is one of those fleece blankets that cats just adore.

Andi loves being under a warm blanket. Andi is 13 and like me, likes warmth. She got up into the chair, and I carefully put the blanket over her. You can tell by the look in her eyes, she is very happy with me for doing this.

Looking back one year, I found this one of Avensby. She does poses like this often. If you look carefully, you can see Norton in the orange box on the bookshelf.

Fiona is a very small cat at around 6.5 pounds. She will be 12 years old sometime this year. She has very long fur with what I think are very beautiful colours.

February is also the month I brought home Margarita. That was February of 2014 - so it is 8 years now. She was a 2 year old feral cat. This is a picture of her taken about 3 weeks after I got her.
