Wednesday September 30, 2020 Pic of the Day.
I took a look back 1 year to see what was going on, and I found this picture of Margarita. She is very hard to photograph, so this is a good one. It came out well considering it was taken on a budget smartphone.

Tuesday September 29, 2020 Pic of the Day.
For me, it is very hard to believe this was taken more than 8 years ago. I remember taking this picture, and it feels recent in my mind. Andi on the left (tuxedo) and Patty on the right.

Yet another picture of Mumma-Puma and her daughter Andi. I'm really into this theme in the past week or so.

Sunday September 27, 2020 Pic of the Day.
I was looking at pictures I took from September of 2017. I saw this one of Mumma-Puma (right) and her daughter Daisy. This picture goes well with the pictures from last Sunday to last Wednesday. This picture is taken through my front window.

Saturday September 26, 2020 Pic of the Day.
This is a neighbor's cat looking in at Dexter. Dexter and this cat just hate each other and have nasty fights with each other separated by the window. I just happened to walk in the room and saw this. I wanted to be as quiet as possible so Dexter would not know this cat was there.

Friday September 25, 2020 Pic of the Day.
There are seven cats here. Top of the cat tree, picture taken from near the ceiling - I'm standing on a coffee table. I love the "What is that lunatic up to now?" look on the cat's faces.

Thursday September 24, 2020 Pic of the Day.
Too bad the only camera I had at this time was a very poor quality one. I have a lot of nice pictures like this that are so low quality, that I can't decide whether or not to use them on this site. I really like how Avensby would hold her tail when she was a kitten. She still does this when walking around and playing, but not when she is lying down.

Wednesday September 23, 2020 Pic of the Day.
Following on the theme of the past few days, here is Mumma-Puma (calico cat looking at camera) with three of her daughters. Andi on the left, Chessie in the same box as Mumma-Puma, and Elly-May on the right. Mumma-Puma would have been 11 here, and the three daughters would have been 7.

Tuesday September 22, 2020 Pic of the Day.
So, yesterday and the day before were Mumma-Puma and her daughter Andi one year apart - 2013 & 2014. I checked for 2015, and found this one taken at the beginning of October.

Monday September 21, 2020 Pic of the Day.
This is taken one year later from yesterday's picture. Mumma-Puma and Andi were very, very close. This mother/daughter relationship proved to me that cats do know who their relatives are. When Mumma-Puma got sick, not long before she passed away, all three of her remaining kittens from the last litter stayed close to her and groomed her. After Mumma-Puma did pass away, Andi especially was completely lost for weeks. She would keep wandering around looking for her mom and meowing. Broke my heart. In this picture Andi (tuxedo) would have just turned 6 (fall litter) and Mumma-Puma would have been 10.

Sunday September 20, 2020 Pic of the Day.
I decided to look back to September of 2013. I found this picture of Andi (tuxedo) and her mom - Mumma-Puma. I have noticed that Andi and Mumma-Puma are virtually identical looking cats except where Andi is black, Mumma-Puma is calico. If they were lying on the same side, even the dividing line from their white to colour areas is just about identical. Even their personalities were just about the same. The other kittens from the litter are not even close looking to Mumma-Puma, just Andi. This picture is taken in low light with a very poor quality camera, but as they say: the best camera is the one you have on hand.

I just took this last night. Only one 60 Watt light bulb on in the room.

Friday September 18, 2020 Pic of the Day.
Patty is quite beautiful. I have been told she is a Silver Abyssinian or Silver Abyssinian & Tabby cross. I'm not well informed regarding cat breeds, but when I found Patty, I had never seen a cat with fur like hers before. In person, she is silver and not grey, though pictures have a hard time capturing the colour correctly. According to a witness, a car on a 2 lane highway stopped, opened the passenger door, and set her in the ditch and drove off. I was called, and I went and got her. That is all I know of her history. She would have been about 6 - 7 months old when I got her. She is about 10 1/2 years old now, but would have been about 7 1/2 in this picture.

Thursday September 17, 2020 Pic of the Day.
Taken through the sunroom window. Avensby yawned just as I snapped the picture. I love the pattern her whiskers took. She has whiskers that seem oversized for her body size compared to most cats I've had, and in this pattern, they are remarkable.

Wednesday September 16, 2020 Pic of the Day.
Taken just over three years ago. The calico is Mumma-Puma, orange tabby is Leon, and the tuxedo is Andi. Andi and Leon are 2 of 5 siblings, and Mumma-Puma is the mom. In 2018 both Leon and Mumma-Puma passed away, so I'm glad I have pictures like this.

Andi (tuxedo) was in the box on the floor, and Norton - true to his nature - decided he wanted to join in. Much to my surprise, Andi didn't seem to mind.

Saturday September 12, 2020 Pic of the Day.
Avensby rolls and rolls in catnip whenever I put some out for the cats. When she is covered in it, she goes off by herself and licks it off her fur until every last bit is gone. The other cats do roll in it, but they tend to lick it off the floor.

Thursday September 10, 2020 Pic of the Day.
Lately, Avensby (left) has been causing trouble for Andi (right). Even though Avensby is being completely innocent here, you can see Andi does not trust her. Andi is a good communicator, and this look on her face really is expressive. And yes, Avensby does have a very long tail for her size. Picture taken through a window.

The basket Avensby is in is well over my head on the top of the cat tree. I held my camera phone over my head and took this picture. I think because I've done this so many times, Avensby is trying to ignore me.

A basket full of Norton. Norton likes to squeeze himself into tight sleeping spaces, and this is one of his regular spots. I've noticed that camera autofocus has a hard time focusing on long-haired cats.

Thursday September 03, 2020 Pic of the Day.
I decided to see what was happening three years ago - September 2017, and found this picture of Norton (left), Chessie (middle) and Leon (right). Nice picture of them, but I didn't know my new phone well enough, and had no idea the HDR was turned on by default giving this picture a photoshopped look. This odd look that my pictures had caused me to look at the settings and that is when I found out HDR was on. I didn't know what that meant so I looked it up. Now I always keep it off.

I was cutting the lawn a couple of days ago, and when I looked at the house, I saw this. I was very lucky to have captured his paw on the glass like this. I didn't know if he would still be like this when I got the camera out.
